About the role
- Triage phone calls with courtesy and promptness and refer to a pharmacist when applicable.
- Distributes drugs, performing all usual technical functions associated with the drug distribution system.
Responsibilities
- Completes projects and/or activities, which meet departmental criteria to maintain and advance professional competency based on divisional guidelines.
- Informed by basic research done at our Sloan Kettering Institute, scientists across MSK collaborate to conduct innovative translational and clinical research that is driving a revolution in our understanding of cancer as a disease and improving the ability to prevent, diagnose, and treat it.
Requirements
- PTCB or NHA Technician Certification (CPhT) required.

- Shift: Variable, Start as early at 8a, finish as late as 7p

Nice to have
- HS Diploma/GED with 2+ years of clinic/hospital experience preferred.
- Specialty pharmacy experience preferred.

We provide comprehensive, clinical and dispensing services in both inpatient and ambulatory care settings through a decentralized satellite pharmacy services model. The department has one of the most robust set of electronic clinical resources in the country and a dynamic medication safety program.
- Across the Center, we review 1.5 million orders per year and dispense over four million doses of medication annually. The Pharmacy Department has approximately 600 employees with 400 pharmacists servicing patients in 40 pharmacy satellites, including inpatient unit-based satellites in all oncological specialties.

The department will also sponsor national and state membership for pharmacy organizations and appropriate off-site informative meetings.
