About the role
- Under the supervision of the Center Director, the Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing the PACE transportation program.
- This includes coordinating the safe and reliable transportation of participants, meals, durable medical equipment, and medications.
- In addition, the Transportation Manager oversees vehicle repairs and maintenance, ensuring that all vehicles remain safe and dependable.
Responsibilities
- Manage and update the participant database.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all company procedures, and information about participants, clients or families.
- Participate in and support Quality Improvement initiatives.
- The Transportation Manager also manages transportation scheduling and is responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of all drivers and dispatchers, as well as any other transportation needs as deemed necessary.
- They identify quality, cost-effective vendors to support transportation operations and are responsible for ensuring that departmental budget goals are consistently met.
Requirements
- Maintain professional affiliations and any required certifications.
- Perform other duties as required or requested.
Nice to have
- 2 years of administrative/supervisory experience in a transportation setting.
- 5 years of experience in the transportation industry is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year working with the frail or elderly population or training and tested competency provided by K-day PACE.
Skills
- Knowledge of safety requirements pertaining to the transportation industry.
- Requires individuals who can coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with participants, co- workers, medical staff, and the public.
- Proficient in identifying and recommending problem resolution.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage transportation scheduling computer software.
- Familiar with operation of accessible vehicles.
- Experience with maintenance and oversight of a fleet of vehicles.
Compensation
- Collaborate with the Executive Director in the annual and capital budget development and maintain the departmental budget within its allowed and reasonable objectives as well as meets established budgetary guidelines
- Ensure that all departmental staff attend and successfully execute required annual driver training courses and participate in mandatory in-service training.
