About the role
- Applicants should have a strong interest in teaching undergraduate history as well as research.
- As a new university entering our third year of full-time operations, we seek to hire faculty at all levels with particular needs for a scholar who can teach a sequence in American history.
Responsibilities
- Central features of our curriculum design are interdisciplinary perspectives, empiricism, a focus on U.S. institutions, and more modern events of the past century.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate will be able to teach political, economic, and military history, with an applied focus and deep expertise in the United States.
- Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or degree conferred by the start date.
- Ph.D. in History (or some closely related field), with a special interest in applied or American history.
- Demonstrated teaching excellence.
- Strong commitment to UATX's mission of free inquiry, open debate, and intellectual diversity.
- U.S. citizenship or approved visa to work full time in the United States.

- This is a full-time faculty position, open rank (assistant, associate, or full professor), with a start date as early as Summer 2026. The role includes a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits. While UATX does not offer tenure, this line carries the same expectation of long-term stability and permanence.

The Center for Economics, Politics, and History (CEPH) The Center of Economics, Politics, and History (CEPH) offers an undergraduate concentration in the social sciences with a focus on empirical analysis of human events. Compensation
- Teach a full load of six quarter-length courses per year (typically two per term), contributing to the development of undergraduate syllabi for core courses and bringing creativity and breadth of knowledge to classroom design.
