About the role
- The Technical Product Manager (TPM) bridges the gap between complex business workflows and technical engineering execution.
- Operating within GDOT’s enterprise IT environment, the TPM is responsible for assessment of specialized applications, platforms or data product requests.
- This role requires a blend of business acumen and a deep understanding of technical architecture, system integrations, and data structures.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery sessions to uncover and analyze deep user needs, transforming vague business requests into highly structured, prioritized product backlogs.
- 2.Technical Leadership & Platform Governance Collaborate closely with enterprise architects, security teams, and database administrators to evaluate technical feasibility, manage system dependencies, and mitigate technical risks.
- Evaluate APIs, data integration plans, and existing software capabilities within the IT and Transportation Tech markets to determine buy-vs-build strategies.
- Document and present status updates to stakeholders and management 4.Continuous Process Improvement & Documentation Identify opportunities to optimize the IT project intake, evaluation, and prioritization processes using data-driven insights.
- Develop, standardize, and maintain guidelines, templates, operating procedures, and training materials to help business users submit high-quality project requests.
Requirements
- Familiarity with data pipelines, GIS/spatial data systems, cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS), or enterprise service platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
Nice to have

- Vendor Management: Experience overseeing outsourced or contractor-led software development efforts is highly desirable
- 4+ years of product management or technical program management experience, preferably within a government agency, enterprise IT, or transportation technology ecosystem.
