About the role

Responsibilities

  • Parenting skills, problem-solving, and child-care related support
  • Work alongside Social Workers to provide support during crises or emergencies
  • Provide ongoing emotional support and encouragement to children, youth, and families
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, progress notes, service plans, and related documentation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Director, or CEO

Requirements

  • Successful completion of required Social Development, Criminal Record, and Vulnerable Sector checks
  • Experience working with children, youth, families, or diverse populations is considered an asset
  • A certificate or diploma in Youth Care, Social Services, Human Services, Child and Youth Care, Teaching/ECE, Criminology/Corrections, Sociology, or a related field is considered an asset
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, Social Workers, and community partners
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and use case management software
