About the role
- The Maker Mobile Mentor position assists RAFT STEAM facilitators in delivering hands-on STEAM activities, events, and programming to students that encourage creativity, ingenuity, and experimentation.
- Mentors are partnered with one of our experienced RAFT Education Team members to work with students in grades K-8 throughout the South Bay region.
- Primary Responsibilities: Help with Maker Mobile activities and materials preparations as appropriate.
Requirements
- To be considered for this opportunity you must be currently enrolled as an active student at an accredited college or university.
- While performing the job duties, employees are regularly required to talk, listen, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
- The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, walk, and stand for extended periods of time.
Skills
- Basic technical skills, including proficient use of Google applications and word processing.
- Comfort with working with elementary-aged students.
- Conversant in basic science, physics, and engineering concepts related to elementary school students.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods when working with students.
- Education and/or Experience:
- Enrolled as a student in a local university or college.
