About the role

  • Williams Jones, founded in 1988, is a SEC-registered investment advisory firm specializing in customized wealth management services for private individuals, retirement plans, and non-profit organizations.
  • We are seeking an Equity Analyst to join Williams Jones' collaborative team.
  • The Analyst will contribute to the team's coverage of the Financials sector, broadly defined to include Digital Assets, Alternative Asset Managers, Payments, and Fintech Software, while also supporting firm-wide investment research initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain detailed financial models and valuation analyses
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers and fellow analysts to generate and refine investment ideas
  • Support ad hoc research projects across the firm as needed

Requirements

  • Financials sector experience is not required. strong fundamental research skills and a willingness to develop sector expertise are what matter most
  • Proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg/FactSet, and financial databases
  • Our team of portfolio managers average 35 years of experience and work directly with each client to determine their investment goals and objectives.
  • 3+ years of experience in equity research, investment analysis, or a related investment role (buy-side or sell-side)
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (comparable company analysis, sum-of-the-parts)
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong use of AI tools and excited about incorporating AI into the investment research process
  • Intellectually curious, self-directed, and comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership over work product

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree required, concentration in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field preferred
  • Progress toward CFA designation is a plus but not required

Compensation

  • The annualized "all-in" compensation range for this role is expected to be between $175,000-$225,000.
