About the role
- This position will play a key role in the company's corporate Accounting Policy Team within the Global Controller's Group.
- This role offers significant exposure to complex investment structures, cross-functional transaction activity, and senior stakeholders across Barings and its parent company.
- One of the primary responsibilities for this role will include working with Barings investment teams by helping them understand the accounting outcomes for various fund structures, investment strategies and significant transactions.
Requirements
- Knowledge of US GAAP, specifically investment accounting (ASC 320, ASC 321, ASC 323, ASC 326 and ASC 810), business combinations (ASC 805);
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Excel;
- Able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- excellent time management skills
- Self-motivated - able to work independently as well as part of a broader team
- Strong interpersonal skills - able to build effective working relationships and communicate effectively across company locations and organizational lines
- Adaptable and comfortable working through changing priorities, evolving processes, and time-sensitive business needs.

Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred;
- 4+ years relevant accounting experience (CPA or on track) with public accounting experience strongly preferred;
- Prior experience in financial services, particularly in investment accounting is strongly preferred;
