About the role

Duties/Expectations: This professional-track position has a course-load of 4-3-2 (27 credit-hours per year).
Duties for this position include, but are not limited to: 1.
Teaching (70%) - Teach nine courses per year (27 credit hours).

All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
All faculty are required to abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
The required degree must be completed prior to the start date.
The required degree must be completed by the start date.
Experience teaching Spanish courses at the university level is required.
Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English is also required.
Failure to attach the required documents may result in your application not being considered.

Teach nine courses per year (27 credit hours). These include a variety of courses at the undergraduate level, including Third-Year Spanish Reading, Grammar, and Culture, Third-Year Spanish Composition, and/or other courses, depending on expertise.
Teaching (70%) - Teach nine courses per year (27 credit hours).

It is anticipated that they will participate in academic conferences and workshops (at BYU and at other venues), sharing and learning best practices in teaching Spanish language, literature, and culture.
