About the role
- The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting GCS network systems for real-time systems.
- Upkeeping of systems security per regulatory compliance obligations
Responsibilities
- The Network Engineer will work closely with senior members of the team to maintain the integrity of Vistra's OT network for GCS, following NERC CIP guidelines.
- Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructures.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical support to clients and internal teams
- provide support for setting up IPSec tunnels necessary to integrate new resources as Vistra portfolio grows
- Be on-call on rotation schedule for 24x7 support of GCS network
- Centrally manage policies
Requirements
- Familiarity with Panorama, TACACS, Splunk, TripWire, etc.
- Good knowledge of LSVPN including running OSPF over LSVPN
- Good knowledge of IP Address management (IPAM), Active Directory and DNS
Nice to have
- Conduct network assessments and audits.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or related experience gained through college degree programs and or certifications in related field
- 3+ years of experience in network engineering or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Palo Alton, Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Arista, etc.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools and interfacing with terminal server, and RTU is preferred.
