About the role

Responsibilities
- Coach and develop safeties in position-specific fundamentals, techniques, and scheme implementation
- Teach coverages, alignment, footwork, tackling, run support, and communication in secondary play
- Support student-athlete academic success, personal growth, and accountability
- Collaborate with Defensive Coordinator and defensive staff on opponent breakdown, game strategy, and adjustments
- Maintain recruiting records and databases, and manage communication with recruits
- Coordinate with strength and conditioning staff on developing position-specific training
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Administration
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree/or equivalent working experience from an accredited institution
- Playing and/or coaching experience with defensive backs, preferably with safeties
- Knowledge of defensive football schemes and safety techniques
- Must have a State of Texas or Arkansas class "C" vehicle operator's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Complete required reports, documentation, and administrative tasks
- Understanding of NCAA Division II rules and regulations
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Acceptable driving record and periodic completion of van safety course
Nice to have
- Collegiate coaching experience, preferably at the NCAA Division II level
- Recruiting experience at the collegiate level
- Experience with video analysis platforms (e.g., Hudl, XOS)
- Ability to travel extensively and work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to m aintain confidentiality and uphold professional and ethical standards.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Working in all weather conditions, exposure to high noise levels, standing throughout the day, the ability to use a loud voice at practices and events and physical involvement in all practices and workouts with players.
