- This internship offers the opportunity to get hands-on experience in fermentation, aseptic techniques, instrumentation, analyses and data processing.

- This individual will be responsible for performing general housekeeping and maintenance operations in the fermentation lab, and he/she may perform research experiments depending on ability and availability.
- A successful candidate will possess the ability to work well independently and perform routine tasks.
- This position provides support to the scientists working on fermentation process development from bench to pilot scale, as well as the opportunity to participate in the experimental process.

- AND DUTIES: Responsibilities include: · Clean and organize work areas and equipment · Store supplies and distribute a variety of items throughout the lab · Maintain inventory of raw materials and supplies · Prepare media and other solutions · Prepare equipment for upcoming experiments. · Maintain written batch records · Other duties as assigned · Perform measurements on fermentation samples QUALIFICATIONS: · College student, preferably enrolled in biology, biotechnology, chemical engineering or related fields. · Ability to work flexible hours ESSENTIAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES: · Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions · Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others · Able to sit and/or stand for up to 2-4 hours at a time · Ability to lift 50 lbs.
