Responsibilities

  • Develop individualized success plans, academic improvement plans, and monitor student progress.
  • Connect students with university resources including Academic Support, Counseling and Psychological Services, Accessibility Center, Financial Aid, and other campus services.
  • Support the Nursing Advisement Supervisor in projects related to the students and the advisement center as assigned.
  • Help develop and maintain advising resources, instructional materials, and student communications.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success and retention when needed.
  • Maintain professional knowledge through advising training and professional development.
  • The College of Nursing Academic Advisor provides comprehensive academic advising and student success support for undergraduate and graduate nursing students and prospective nursing students as directed by the Nursing Advisement Center Supervisor.
  • Experience developing presentations and facilitating or presenting informational sessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn FERPA and university academic policies.
  • Ability to interpret academic policies and explain complex information clearly.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use student information systems and advising technologies.

  • Experience interpreting university academic policies and degree requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Compensation

  • $59,000.00 to $75,500.00 annually

Benefits

  • Additionally, if you contribute 5%, BYU adds an additional 4% (Rehires may qualify for different retirement plans)
  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Academic Advising, Education, or a related field.
