About the role
- Our team is at the center of solving impactful problems for millions of members who are managing their joint and muscle health, and making a meaningful difference in their lives.
- You'll define not just what the system is, but how it evolves, how decisions get made, and how consistency and flexibility are balanced as Hinge Health ships rapidly.
- This is a high-impact role, at an especially exciting time in Hinge Health's journey.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the system supports a wide range of surfaces, from core product UI to Agent flows, enterprise templates, and integrated design systems.
- Collaborate closely with engineers on implementation details, tradeoffs, and system architecture.
- Help shape tooling, Storybook usage, and contribution workflows so the system is easy to use and maintain.
- Partner with feature teams through office hours and design reviews. You will help teams navigate patterns the system doesn't yet cover and decide when a design should become a global standard or remain a local solution.
- Act as a design system "domain owner," providing guidance and sign-off on system-level decisions.
- Raise the Bar for Design Quality
- Identify inconsistencies, duplication, and fragmentation across the product and drive systematic improvements.
- Advocate for system-level thinking across product, design, and engineering.
Requirements
- Experience with Claude Code (or other agentic coding tools), MCPs, and other AI workflows.
- Experience partnering with platform engineers on implementation, parity, and release cadence.
Skills
- Establish clear contribution models, review processes, and decision-making frameworks for system changes.
Compensation
- As we scale with 51% year-over-year revenue gains and a member base expanding by over 47% annually, this role will be instrumental in sustaining our momentum and shaping the future of care.
Benefits
- Participation in our Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), allowing you to acquire company stock via payroll at a 15% discount against the lower market price.
- Comprehensive and inclusive medical coverage and benefit programs for you and your dependents.
- Flexible retirement savings through Traditional or Roth 401(k) investment paths.
- Dedicated lifestyle stipends designed to fuel your professional growth and continuous learning.
- In this role, you'll directly shape the future of our Design System, focused on creating and evolving shared patterns and components to ensure a cohesive user experience across Hinge Health's product suite.
