About the role

  • The Batch Making Operator is responsible for operating manufacturing equipment, blend solid and liquid raw materials, to produce a wide range of high-performance paints & coatings
  • Operate designated equipment in an efficient, clean and safe manner
  • Follow all quality and work practices, all relevant procedures and SOP's, and all instructions listed on batch tickets

Responsibilities

  • Maintain good housekeeping in assigned work areas
  • Other duties as assigned by Production Leads and Supervisors

Requirements

  • Must have a High School diploma minimum, or equivalent
  • Must be able to manufacture any products listed on the Hempel assortment with no or minimum supervision
  • Must be able to provide on-the-job training to new employees
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical functions with or without a calculator
  • Must have mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to safely operate all gas and electric forklifts
  • Flexibility required to work extended hours.
  • Must be willing to work different shifts as well as occasional weekends to meet customer requirements
  • Good communication skills required to read and write in English
  • Must have a positive and cooperative attitude
