About the role

  • They must possess a general understanding of functions outside of the department to understand the downstream impact to various teams.
  • The Senior Analyst provides guidance and direction to junior staff members particularly with respect to new products and strategies.
  • They are responsible for reviewing and approving the work of junior staff members to ensure the accuracy, completeness and integrity of trades captured in HOOPP's investment book of records, SimCorp Dimension is maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Build and transfer knowledge and understanding of complex derivative strategies to Analysts on the team.
  • Lead special projects assigned to continuously improve processing capabilities for the team.
  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliations between HOOPP and custodian positions and follow-up on discrepancies.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
  • Identify and implement process improvements where necessary

Requirements

  • ​University degree in Business, Finance or related discipline
  • At least 7 years of experience in a financial sector, preferably in capital market
  • Strong knowledge of capital market instruments including fixed income and equities
  • Strong knowledge of derivative instruments such as swaps, options and futures gained through industry experience
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness is very important along with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Knowledge of investment accounting standards & principles
  • Willing to assume other responsibilities as required

Compensation

  • The actual base salary offered to the successful candidate may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, individual's expertise and level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered.
  • $103,000 - $153,000 CAD
