- Working hands-on with both municipal and industrial fire departments, the Ferrara/KME team thrives on diagnosing departments' current apparatus limitations and response needs to custom design the perfect fire apparatus solution that will stand the test of time.

- Must be able to ensure manufacturing, quality, and safety requirements are met.
- Work from schedules, manuals, wiring diagrams, shop orders, prints, pick lists, BOM's, photos, and instructions; will become familiar with schematics.
- Identify and understand basic plumbing, electrical and mechanical components that are commonly used in assembly.
- Review shop orders and similar materials to determine requirements. Retrieve parts, materials, and supplies from staging location.
- Must be able to operate hand and power tools.
- Must be able to participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
