About the role

  • Scientech Research is looking for Finance & Fund Accounting Interns to join our team.
  • This is a project-based internship for students interested in the intersection of fund accounting, finance, investment operations, and automation.
  • Rather than focusing primarily on routine accounting tasks, you will work on real-world projects involving financial reconciliation, controls, public-market data, fund operations, and finance technology.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or other advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to independently organize your work and communicate findings clearly
  • The goal is to give you hands-on exposure to how Finance operates within a quantitative trading firm while developing the analytical judgment and attention to detail required in a buy-side environment.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of US GAAP, partnership accounting, auditing, investment funds, or fund structures
  • Previous experience in accounting, audit, asset management, fund administration, or financial operations
  • Experience with Python, VBA, Power Query, or other data/automation tools
  • CPA or CFA coursework/candidacy
  • Buy-side exposure: Learn how fund accounting, financial controls, and operations work within a quantitative trading firm.
  • Project ownership: Work on substantive projects with real deliverables rather than primarily administrative tasks.
  • Finance × Technology: Gain experience applying data and automation to traditional finance and accounting problems.
