About the role
- Material Planner V will be the functional leader responsible for management and execution of all phases of the assigned program production plans.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the program manager, program planner/scheduler, control account managers and other program team members from the supply chain, quality and operations functions to strategize and create a plan that ensures production schedules and supply and demand requirements are aligned to meet program deliverable requirements
- Develop processes for monitoring and reporting production capacity, purchasing activities and critical shortages
- Support the development and implementation of performance metrics such as On-Time Purchase Requisition issuance, On-Time Delivery to Contract and On-Time Delivery to Manufacturing
- Manage order demand within Costpoint, or equivalent MRP system
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in supply chain management
- 10+ years of production control, material planning and/or production scheduling experience which include five (5) years of managing DOD propulsion-related programs
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working production control and material planning for programs in the prototyping, design and development portion of the product life cycle
- Direct experience in managing large Subcontracts
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and overall knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project)
- Must have ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship)
- Coordination with the program team, developing the production schedule based on lead time analysis of each supplier/operation required to meet program need dates according to the program IMS
- Create and utilize tools required to status on-going efforts in all stages of the production plan to enable active management of the production plan
Nice to have
- Experience with AS9100 and DCMA standards
- Demonstrated expertise in Master Production Scheduling
- Demonstrated expertise in lean and six sigma principles
- Familiarity and/or experience with Lean Enterprise Institute (or equivalent) principles involving manufacturing, quality, or supply chain management
- Experience in using Integrated Program Management Tools
- Currently holds an active DoD Secret Clearance
- Experience working Missile Defense Agency programs with MAP/PMAP requirements
