About the role
- Field work exposes employee to varying weather conditions, chemicals, noxious fumes, insects, heights, and confined areas.
- Work is performed under general supervision, according to established guidelines, and is reviewed through daily conferences.
Responsibilities
- Performs specialized field and office work in fire prevention with responsibility for administration and enforcement of fire safety codes, laws, and ordinances and includes inspection of commercial buildings to ensure compliance.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate with six (6) months to one (1) year experience in fire inspection, fire prevention or related field
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate with two to three (2-3) years experience in fire inspection, fire prevention
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate with four (4) or more years experience in fire inspection, fire prevention
- If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Initiative and judgment must be exercised to recognize fire hazards and acquire code compliance.
Compensation
- Salary $25.21- $32.15
