About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage projects in collaboration with the HVAC team and Central Heating Plant.
  • Manage and work alongside a team of licensed steamfitters to oversee all aspects of HVAC operations across campus.
  • Operate and maintain the Central Heating Plant in compliance with Massachusetts CMR 522 Board of Boiler Rules, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years in a modern power plant and routine boiler maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of power plant auxiliary equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a variety of people.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • For faculty positions, statements on mentoring, teaching, and research will also be required.

Compensation

  • Conduct annual flushing and maintenance of fire hydrants to support life safety compliance.
  • Perform necessary repairs and mechanical work during the annual summer shutdown in accordance with M.C.L-522 CMR.
