Responsibilities

  • Performs psychiatric assessments to determine necessity for involuntary treatment.
  • Develops a positive working relationship with all physicians, staff and other referral sources involved in the admission, referral and patient transfer process.
  • Documents assessment on appropriate forms.
  • Maintains monthly statistics through referral log.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • License /Certification
  • Required:
  • Registration with California Board of Behavioral Sciences as Associate Social Worker (ASW) or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT).
  • Kaweah Health approved crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire/transfer.
  • LCSW/LMFT within six years of hire/transfer. Failure to receive licensure within this time frame will result in termination of employment.

  • Gathers information about the patient's social, psychological, cultural, environmental and financial
  • situation as part of assessment.
  • Counsels individuals and their families regarding psychosocial needs and problems related to their medical condition.

Nice to have

  • Supervision hours completed.
  • Experience with assessment of involuntary/persistently mentally ill patients.
  • Preferred: Supervision hours completed.

Compensation

  • $47.00 -$47.00
