About the role
- Our flagship brands - AutoTrader.ca, AutoSync, Dealertrack Canada and CMS - help Canadians buy, sell, and finance vehicles with confidence.
- Current work includes containerizing services, upgrading.NET runtimes, strengthening CI/CD and observability, and adopting Infrastructure as Code-alongside pragmatic AI-assisted development and intelligent QA.
- You'll join a small, critical and high-impact team (engineers, product owner, engineering manager) focused on solving real customer problems with durable systems.
Responsibilities
- Build & Evolve Critical Systems
- Design and implement scalable, resilient backend and frontend services using.NET (Core / 6+ / 8), Angular, and RESTful APIs
- Lead registry modernization initiatives, including containerization of legacy.NET workloads, runtime upgrades, and improvements to deployment and operational reliability
- Own Architecture & Technical Decisions
- Drive technical design discussions and make pragmatic architectural decisions within the team
- Integrate observability, security, and performance best practices into system design
- Build With an Ownership Mindset
- Own solutions end-to-end, from design through deployment and production operation
- Collaborate & Lead
- Collaborate closely with Product, Platform, and other engineering teams to deliver production-ready capabilities
Requirements
- Experience working with AWS services such as EC2, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM
- Proficiency in Angular, TypeScript, and RESTful API design
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI-assisted development and testing tools to improve productivity, code quality, and operational efficiency
Nice to have
- Experience with Docker, Terraform / CloudFormation, or Kubernetes-based platforms
- Background in system modernization, refactoring, or legacy platform evolution
- Experience with database performance optimization
- Exposure to AI-driven QA (e.g., Playwright, Cypress with AI integrations)

- Solid understanding of SQL Server and relational data modeling (managed database experience a plus)
