About the role

  • The Director of Tax will be a key leader within the CFO organization and will own Dialpad's global tax strategy, planning, reporting, audits, and compliance.
  • As an AI-driven SaaS company, Dialpad is looking for a strategic yet hands-on leader who will partner cross-functionally across Finance, Legal, Product, Billing, and Operations to provide practical tax guidance, support international expansion, and build scalable tax processes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the completion of federal, international, and state income tax returns, including all related analysis and support.
  • Lead and oversee the preparation of all jurisdictional income tax provisions, including ensuring accurate and timely ASC 740 tax accounting and financial reporting disclosures.
  • Lead federal, state, local, and international tax audits and examinations.
  • Perform tax due diligence, provide structural advice on transactions, and offer ad hoc advice on all tax matters.
  • Develop policies and positions to drive and defend tax-efficient outcomes globally, including discussions with taxing authorities.
  • Manage, collaborate with, and review the work performed by outside tax professionals.
  • Establish and maintain formal tax policies, practices, and procedures to support U.S. GAAP compliance, SOX readiness, and a strong internal control environment.

Requirements

  • Oversee and/or complete special projects as required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Taxation required.
  • CPA and public accounting experience required.

  • Experience with NetSuite, Suretax (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence management and contributors at all levels of the organization and across functions.
