About the role

  • The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of legal expertise and financial planning knowledge to act as the integrator and leader in the delivery of quality services across multiple domains and areas of planning.
  • The role goes beyond understanding specific technical strategies, but to anticipate the impact and understand the interplay a particular solution may have on other disciplines.
  • This role requires strategic thinking, excellent project management skills, exceptional interpersonal ability, clear communication, and a deep understanding of complex financial, legal, and tax landscapes.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the advisor's primary point of contact and liaison, coordinating all aspects of the client's integrated plan between the family, internal teams, and external partners to ensure a cohesive approach.
  • Based on the family's objectives, identify issues and needs to design an integrated plan.
  • Recognize opportunities to position and coordinate internal and external partners in alignment with objectives.
  • Communicate pertinent client information and objectives among multiple partners to streamline communications while minimizing duplication.
  • Manage the delivery of planning components ensuring timely execution and a seamless experience throughout the engagement.
  • Support the development of advisors to equip them to lead family meetings and conversations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
  • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation required.
  • Other advanced degree or designation desirable (MBA, CFA, CPA).
  • Series 6 or 7 and resident state insurance license required or working towards license within 6 months.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in wealth management, financial planning, or a related field directly working with advisors and U/HNW clients ($40M+).
  • Experience working with family offices highly desirable.
  • Exceptional organizational, strategic, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal and financial concepts clearly and concisely to non-expert family members.
  • Advanced experience with financial planning software and Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems.+
  • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation required. Other advanced degree or designation desirable (MBA, CFA, CPA).
  • Strong expertise across multiple areas of wealth management including financial planning, insurance and investment products, estate and business planning, and other HNW planning strategies with a deep understanding of the implications a particular solution may have on others.
  • Unquestioned integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling highly confidential matters.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects.
  • Proven ability to develop rapport and strong relationships with clients, financial advisors, internal teams and third-party partners.
