About the role
- The Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all mechanical and non-mechanical systems aboard the Jean Ribault vessel.
- This role ensures compliance with United States Coast Guard (USCG) regulations and manufacturer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain safety equipment in accordance with USCG regulations.
- Operations & Maintenance Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance in accordance with the vessel's maintenance plan.
- Manage mechanical and non-mechanical systems to meet operational needs and legal standards.
- Conduct hands-on repairs and manage improvement projects.
- Maintain and review maintenance logs and records; manage parts procurement and inventory.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive interactions with all internal and external clients.
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), or ability to obtain and maintain.
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification, or ability to obtain and maintain.
- Ability to lead and mentor others in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
