About the role
- The Usage Platform team delivers low-latency, usage-based billing for companies offering AI-driven services.
- We own the infrastructure that makes this possible at scale, including usage ingestion and aggregation, replay handling, and alerting.
Responsibilities
- As the engineering manager for Usage Platform, you'll own the operational and technical direction of systems that handle high-throughput live traffic at scale, and you'll shape the team as it expands to support new use cases.
- Lead a team responsible for usage ingestion, aggregation, replay handling, and alerting systems
- Own the technical strategy and roadmap for low-latency, usage-based billing infrastructure
- Drive operational excellence across billing infrastructure systems
- Hire and develop engineers as the team expands into new scope
- Partner with stakeholders across organizations to deliver billing solutions
- 4+ years of engineering management experience, directly managing and growing teams of 5+ engineers focused on building and shipping products at scale
Requirements
- 8+ years of full-time software development experience
- Track record of leading engineering teams responsible for high-traffic, low-latency, and extensible systems
- Ability to handle ambiguity, creatively solve complex challenges, and execute on competing high-impact priorities
