About the role

  • The software to which you will contribute is FT Base, an internal project management and data application suite, built in Python, Django (DRF), Typescript, React, PostgreSQL.
  • It also powers an MCP server to provide data and interactivity to employees through enterprise AI tooling.
  • And cognizant of maintenance burdens that may be introduced by flashy features.

Requirements

  • 5 years as a Software Engineer in a web application environment OR
  • 2 years as a Software Engineer and reputable boot camp certification OR
  • Engineering degree (4 year) and some projects or work experience to show
  • Experience overcoming the obstacles that lie beyond the prototype, and instinct toward cohesive organized systems that scale
  • Make recommendations on progressing projects you are close to, sometimes in growth, sometimes in simplification, sometimes in aligning with other areas of the system
  • Experience requirements, either:
  • Python, Typescript, APIs, Git and web application system design concepts
  • AI Qualifications
  • Strong A.I. prompt-driven development abilities, backed by technical understanding
  • You don't need to know how to have hand-coded everything you produce, but you need to be able to explain and verify any ai-produced code you submit.
  • Immerse yourself in the context and business requirements of each of our system's many functional areas
  • Execute on instructions to build new things, or improve, refactor, clean up or delete features
  • Help review applications prototyped outside of the engineering department, and help steer, rebuild, or secure these
