About the role
- The Payroll Specialist is responsible for executing all Canada payrolls for their assigned resort(s)/corporate employees.
- The Payroll Specialist is responsible for meeting all deadlines, preparing time and attendance for processing, performing payroll calculations, manual entry and adjustments, auditing results, and reconciling the payroll back to all inputs.
- The ideal candidate is detail oriented and understands the importance of providing exceptional customer service, providing timely and accurate responses to all employees, HR and resort leaders.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to
- Provide a high level of service and support to all Alterra Mountain Company employees. Assist employees with questions about their wages, taxes and/or deductions listed on their pay statements.
- Support the Time and Attendance activity utilizing Workday Time Tracking.
- Process/support all Canada Court Orders to include and not limited to garnishment, and tax levy's in Workday and ADP. Include verification of accurate calculations and any necessary communication to the employee or resorts.
- Support gross to net calculations expertise in Canada taxes: CPP, EI, Federal, provincial and RRSP.
- Support ROE completion and inquiries
- Among other resources, Alterra has a slate of Employee Resource Groups to support our workforce.
Requirements
- 3+ years, multi-provincial payroll experience including taxes and garnishments, pay calculations, tax and wage reporting.
- ROE expertise and experience
- Experience with bi-weekly, hourly and salaried payrolls.
- Finance/Accounting knowledge or experience required.
- Ability to use query and report generation tools.
- Workday experience required
- Proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Knowledge of computer network systems.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Support Year End tax reporting processes as required by law.
Nice to have
- Canadian payroll processing experience is required, and USA experience is preferred.
- Workday Time Tracking experience preferred.
Compensation
- $24.04 - $33.65 per hour
