Requirements
- Familiarity with submarine platforms, ship systems, or Navy alteration packages (TEMPALT/OPALT/SHIPALT).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical specifications and technical drawings.
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD® or similar 2D drafting tools
- Candidate must be able to obtain a government security clearance to the level of SECRET.
- Ability to conduct ship checks, work in confined spaces, and climb 20-25 ft vertical ladders unassisted.
- 1-4 years of professional experience in mechanical design or drafting (entry‑level candidates with relevant education considered).
- Developed understanding of mechanical drafting principles, manufacturing processes, and drawing conventions
- Basic understanding of drafting standards; familiarity with ASME Y14.3 preferred.
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD® or similar 2D drafting tools; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Nice to have
- Associate's degree in mechanical engineering technology or related manufacturing discipline preferred.
- Prior work with military specifications or defense programs, a plus.
- Basic understanding of drafting standards
- familiarity with ASME Y14.3 preferred.
Compensation
- $20k-$25k
