About the role
- ABOUT NEXUS You don't have an AI story if you don't have your data story.
- One identity, one governance envelope, one operational layer across every mainframe, data lake, warehouse, and streaming system in the business.
- For the first time, enterprises can bring their existing stack along instead of rebuilding it - and still give AI agents full context across the estate.
Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of software engineers, including regular 1:1s, performance feedback, and career growth planning
- Partner with product management to plan, prioritize, and deliver team roadmaps on schedule
- Own team hiring, onboarding, and staffing plans in partnership with recruiting
- Identify and remove blockers, manage risk, and communicate status clearly to stakeholders and leadership
- You'll balance people leadership with technical judgment-coaching engineers, driving execution, and partnering with product and other engineering leaders to plan and deliver roadmaps.
- This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys developing people as much as shipping software.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a formal people-management role
- Demonstrated experience leading a team through the full software development lifecycle
- Experience managing performance, providing feedback, and supporting career development for direct reports
- Experience balancing competing priorities and delivering against roadmaps in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have
- Prior experience scaling a team through significant growth or organizational change
- Background in the specific technical domain of the team you'd be managing (e.g., data, platform, product engineering)
- Prior experience as an engineer before transitioning into management
- A collaborative team culture built on curiosity and respect
- Challenging work where your contributions clearly matter
- The opportunity to work at the intersection of cloud, data, and AI innovation
- If this role sounds like a great fit - or even close to one - we'd love to hear from you.
Skills
- That's where NexusOne comes in.
- What we stand for is simple:
- sovereign data, interoperable systems, decoupled intelligence - delivered the way modern software should be.
