About the role
- This position will have primary work hours from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. but will require occasional nights and weekends for seasonal work or specialty events.
- Work performed in this position includes manual cleaning and maintenance of UW-Green Bay, Sheboygan Campus buildings.
- A criminal conviction investigation and pre-work screen examination will be conducted on the finalist(s).
Responsibilities
- Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice
- Maintains the campus grounds including lawn care and snow removal using a variety of tools and equipment
- Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs
- Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed
Requirements
- Basic Computer skills including the ability to use e-mail and internet
- A six-month probationary period is required for this position.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term.

- Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, move furniture, perform repetitive motions, overhead work, frequent stair and ladder climbing
Nice to have
- Bilingual, preferably in Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or Oneida
- Knowledge of the proper methods, materials, and equipment for a wide range of general custodian work
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as a vacuum cleaner or a floor scrubber
- Knowledge of basic safety precautions including the safe and proper use of toxic chemicals, and knowledge of heaving lifting methods to ensure safety
- Must have the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Ability to tolerate temperature extremes when performing snow removal activities
- Physical Qualifications:
- Physical abilities to lift 50 lbs. from the floor to waist occasionally
Compensation
- This position will earn an additional $0.80 per hour for all weekend hours worked, as well as for all hours worked between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
- Hourly wage of $17.00.
