About the role
- Helmerich & Payne (NYSE: HP), through its subsidiaries, fabricates and operates high-performance drilling rigs in conventional and unconventional plays around the world.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret laws, statutes and regulations, and identify areas of compliance, as well as potential vulnerability and risk; partner with the appropriate business unit(s) and/or operations in order to develop and implement appropriate action plans
- Perform additional tasks as requested
Requirements
- Proven ability to quickly and effectively prioritize, review, and negotiate agreements in the context of business circumstances and provide advice that recognizes and integrates legal risk and business objectives
- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
- Ability to occasionally travel internationally
Nice to have
- A minimum of three years' relevant experience in-house or with a strong regional or national law firm preferred
- Experience in the oil and gas industry or international law preferred
- Fluency in Spanish or Arabic a plus
