About the role
- We are hiring a Steel Fabricator to join a busy structural steel manufacturing team.
- This role involves fitting and assembling structural steel components, interpreting fabrication drawings, operating shop equipment, and preparing assemblies for welding.
- Candidates should be comfortable working with heavy materials in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while meeting production schedules.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel blueprints, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and layout specifications.
- Experience with structural steel layout, fit-up, and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of fabrication equipment, measuring tools, and shop machinery.
- Ability to work with heavy materials and remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Experience performing Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) in a structural steel fabrication environment.
- Ability to produce clean, high-quality FCAW welds on structural steel components.
- Experience welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions using FCAW.
- Some Saturdays required
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to workplace safety.
Nice to have
- Minimum 2 years of structural steel fitting and fabrication experience preferred.
- Experience operating overhead cranes and rigging equipment is preferred.
