Responsibilities
- Maintain transparency about sources of information
- Create news and features content that is strong on grammar, punctuation, clarity and accuracy
- Ability to write accurately on deadline and to multitask and perform in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
Requirements
- Must be willing to submit and pass the necessary required checks
- Must be available for shift work.
Nice to have
- Degree in journalism, communication or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of experience at a daily newspaper or online news outlet preferred, though candidates with a strong college portfolio are welcome
- Relevant experience in news reporting and writing, using social media, creating enterprising content
- Capacity to work well under deadline pressure
- Understanding of the distinct demands of emerging and existing platforms, including web, mobile, and print
- Professional-level grasp of proper grammar, spelling, punctuation
