About the role
- The NP/PA, Surgical functions in a collaborative practice with physician(s) in the outpatient and inpatient setting.
- Provides practice/clinic/call coverage and may round for physician(s) during periods of absence.
- Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including hospital rounding/consultation, assisting in surgery if appropriate and prescriptive authority.
Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains own volume of patients under the supervision of a physician.
Requirements
- Current Basic Life Support (CPR) is required.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required when assigned to Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Pediatric nurse practitioner acute care certification required when assigned to Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery and Pediatric Surgery/Trauma
- Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
Nice to have
- Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.
- Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred.
- Certified as an RNFA preferred
