About the role
- Xona is the navigational intelligence company bringing real-time, centimeter-level certainty to any device, anywhere on Earth.
- As Xona's Montreal team grows to scale, this role has the potential to evolve into a financial controllership position, depending on experience and interest.
- For Canada Roles: Successful candidates must obtain and hold a security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
Responsibilities
- Own month-end and year-end close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations in support of compliance and audit preparation
- Own accounting pathways from expense to capture to close, ensuring appropriate recordkeeping and reconciliation is completed for Xona's Canadian entity
- Own accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring payments are processed in a timely manner with coordination from our external vendors and stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in financial operations, or a similar field
- Exposure to a variety of accounting functions through experience in small to mid-sized Startups
- Familiarity and exposure to QuickBooks, or similar ERPs
- Ability to work independently and prioritize in a dynamic, fast-growth scale-up environment
- Experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, particularly over-time revenue recognition
- Experience with ERP implementation and cost accounting practices
- For U.K. Roles: To comply with U.K. regulations, this role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks, and successful candidates must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).

- Bonne compréhension des principes et pratiques comptables généralement reconnus (PCGR) au Canada et aux États-Unis.
- Connaissance de QuickBooks ou d'un progiciel de gestion intégré (PGI) comparable.
- Capacité à travailler de façon autonome et à établir les priorités dans un environnement dynamique caractérisé par une forte croissance.
- Intérêt pour les secteurs de l'aérospatiale, des systèmes satellitaires ou des industries axées sur les technologies, ou expérience pertinente dans ceux-ci.
- Expérience de l'application de la norme ASC 606 relative à la comptabilisation des produits, particulièrement pour la comptabilisation des produits au fur et à mesure de l'avancement.
- Expérience de l'implantation de progiciels de gestion intégrés (PGI) et des pratiques de comptabilité analytique.
