Responsibilities
- Collaborate team members to design novel approaches to addressing scale challenges associated with exponentially increased usage of our data tier
- Partner with teams across engineering to design scalable database schemas suitable for a variety of business needs in Box's constantly growing and evolving platform
- Manage critical production systems with enterprise-grade excellence around performance, availability, and consistency
- Strong sense of ownership, persistence and drive, strong communication
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong understanding of common algorithms, data structures, and code design principles
- Experience with JVM-based languages such as Java and Scala
- Familiarity with relational database solutions such as MySQL
