About the role
- The Senior Commercial Manager is responsible for leading the full commercial and financial management of a major sub-programme, typically with a value in excess of $1 billion CAD.
- The role provides leadership and oversight of the commercial function across the sub-program, ensuring robust commercial governance, effective cost control and strong financial performance.
- This position carries overall accountability for the commercial outcomes of the sub-programme, including risk management, procurement, estimating, cost management, financial reporting, and supply chain performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation of monthly commercial performance reports (CVR's).
- Strong negotiation, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence stakeholders and drive outcomes through others.
- Proven ability to develop team capability through mentoring, coaching, and supporting the professional growth of both direct reports and the wider commercial team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs within tight deadlines, including effective delegation and efficient working practices.
Requirements
- The role requires a deep understanding of the construction and infrastructure sector, strong negotiation capability, and the ability to adapt within complex project environments.
- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent.
- Chartered status with a recognized professional body is desirable.

- Experience leading the consolidation of project cost information and driving value optimization across major projects or complex programmes.
