About the role
- We are seeking an Engineer 1 to help develop, test, and maintain software applications and infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Candidates should have a solid foundation in software development, experience with Python and/or Golang, knowledge of Rust, and hands-on experience with Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized applications.
- In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers to build full-stack applications, backend services, automation workflows, and platform integrations that improve the scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency of the vCMTS ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the design, development, and maintenance of software applications using appropriate programming languages
- Reviewing literature, patents, and current practices relevant to assigned projects to support the development of robust software functionality
- Writing and editing technical documentation to support software design and application requirements
Requirements
- Foundational knowledge of cloud and infrastructure technologies, including AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, containerized applications, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience developing software applications using Python and/or Golang, with exposure to modern software engineering practices.
- Understanding of REST APIs, automated testing, and software development lifecycle principles.

- While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
- Familiarity with Rust, front-end development frameworks, and AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
