About the role

  • NextGen Federal Systems is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager / Analyst to work with us supporting our DHS customer in Washington, DC.
  • This position oversees technical project coordination, engineering analysis, and system integration activities to ensure the program meets operational and performance standards.
  • The role includes interfacing with logistics, program management, and government engineering teams to ensure system readiness, compliance, and performance improvements.

Responsibilities

  • The Senior Engineering Manager / Analyst provides senior-level engineering leadership and analytical support to the Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) Program.
  • Develop and maintain technical project schedules and support engineering milestone reviews.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for technical issues in coordination with field teams.
  • Coordinate engineering support for logistics, sustainment, and modernization efforts.
  • Support configuration management and verification of system design changes.
  • Create an environment where people can engage at all levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in the following:
  • Experience with aerostat systems, radar, ISR platforms, or related defense technologies.
  • Proficiency in engineering tools, technical documentation, and modeling/simulation
  • Ability to analyze complex technical data and translate into actionable plans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Deep understanding of systems engineering and integration best practices.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Positive adjudication from a CBP Background Investigation.
  • Position requires some travel.

Nice to have

  • Master's preferred
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
