About the role

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, verify, and deliver embedded software for Blue Origin navigation systems
  • Support integration and test activities including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing
  • Participate in design reviews with a focus on software design and requirement allocation between hardware and software

  • You will support navigation system flight qualification and be responsible for requirements, design, implementation, integration, and testing of software used in safety-critical real - time avionics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or related subject area
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++/Rust programming for embedded systems
  • Experience with microcontroller peripherals (ADC, DAC, I2C, SPI, UART, Spacewire, etc.) and networking (UDP, TCP/IP)
  • Experience with profiling and performance optimization
  • Experience with Linux development environments, scripting, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or related subject area
  • Successful candidates typically have 8+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience with FPGA development and verification
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing
  • Experience with navigation sensor integration and testing
  • Experience with board bring-up and test equipment such as a signal generators, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers
