Responsibilities
- Builds working relationships with associates, vendors, and/or contractors to foster a positive Safety culture while ensuring compliance with AvalonBay policies, and applicable safety regulations. 13.5%
- While assigned to a particular community, or business unit, the Senior Safety Engineer can provide additional support to additional areas within the organization as needed.
- The Construction Safety Specialist identifies, manages, and works to create solutions for hazardous conditions that may lead to injury, illnesses, exposures, and/or property damage.
Requirements
- 3-7 years of Safety, or related experience.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Performance of the required duties requires physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas.
- Conducts and documents the organization's safety program inspections, and inspections required by local regulations.
Nice to have
- (Bi-Lingual, and field related certifications are a plus)
- OSHA 30, or willing to obtain OSHA 30 within 90 days of employment.
- CPR/First Aid or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- BCSP certification is preferred.
Skills
- Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs, internet inquiries, email, and regulatory websites.
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly (both verbal and written).
- Requires use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Compensation
- $78,000.00 - $130,000.00
