About the role
- The AVP, Senior Financial Officer is responsible for the direction, control and coordination of all financial, accounting, and planning activities within their assigned line of business or staff agency.
- This position will be responsible for monitoring the system of accounting and financial controls.
- Financial Officer will be responsible for development, reporting, and analysis of operational and strategic financial and operating budgets and forecasts.
Responsibilities
- Leads the financial planning, forecasting and stress testing impact analysis processes for the one or more Companies including budget development, planning meetings, monthly business meetings, monthly reporting and briefing support.
- Through monthly and ongoing analysis, understands emerging trends and engages with management to develop and operationalize plans to improve financial performance for the Company and/or product lines.
- Responsible for ensuring long-term financial strength of the Company through the identification/quantification of risk, setting capital targets to cover those risks, and ensuring financial goals are aligned to maintain the desired target capital.
- Manages a financial function and associated team or teams, including development of strategy, goals and objectives.

Requirements
- 10 or more years of progressive related experience developing strategies, managing major initiatives and delivering results within a complex matrix environment required.
- 6 or more years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams required.
- Experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, influencing decisions and managing work to achieve strategic goals required.
- Executive-level business acumen in the areas of business operations, industry practices and emerging trends required.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
- MBA/CPA preferred

Compensation
- USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position.
- Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
- Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.
- $195,230.00 - $351,410.00
- Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive.
- Develops and delivers standardized P&L and Balance Sheet monthly, quarterly and annual management results of actual results for one or more Companies and product lines.
