About the role

  • Reporting to the Head, Commercial Banking, the Commercial Account Manager plays a vital role in supporting the financial success of Sydney Credit Union's business members.
  • Recommend approvals for commercial loans and mortgages within policy limits
  • Administer programs such as Microloan, Nova Scotia Small Business Loan, CMHC, and Canada Small Business Loan

Responsibilities

  • Interview applicants and perform financial analysis for new, amended, or renewal commercial loan applications
  • Interpret complex legal documents such as share purchases, asset purchases, vendor take backs and subordinate agreements
  • Maintain internal controls, security controls and loan quality controls for the commercial loan portfolio
  • Collaborate with Atlantic Central and Credit Union Deposit Insurance for approvals and exceptions
  • Monitor the commercial credit portfolio and manage delinquency
  • Maitain a high level of business retention by building trust and ensuring member satisfaction
  • Support personal lending and coach front-line staff
  • Refer business to partners such as CU Financial, CUMIS, and Concentra

Requirements

  • Other duties as required
  • A degree in business, finance, or accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
  • A minimum of 3-5 years lending experience in a financial institution or an equivalent combination of training and experience. * Preference given to candidates with commercial lending experience*

Compensation

  • Salary: $77,026.97 - $90,619.96
