Responsibilities

  • The role includes working on advanced projects, collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and technicians, and contributing to the development of innovative solutions that drive the company's success.
  • You will collaborate with other mechanical teams and occasionally communicate outside of Sierra Space to ensure alignment and progress.
  • You will develop solutions to technical problems, conduct tests and simulations to validate propulsion system performance, and document design processes, test results, and modifications for future reference.
  • We deliver mission-proven technologies to our customers that safeguard our nation, protect space-based assets and enable space exploration.

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
  • Typically 2+ years of related experience.
  • Strong understanding of Propulsion Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently with general guidance from senior engineers.
  • This position is ideal for individuals with a solid foundation in propulsion engineering and a few years of experience looking to further their career.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in using engineering design software and tools such as CAD, FEA, or CFD.
  • Strong understanding of propulsion system components and their functions.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Compensation

  • $82,461.00 - $113,403.75
  • Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
