About the role
- The Director, Retirement Education & Financial Wellness is responsible for delivering impactful financial education and participant engagement services to retirement plan clients and individuals served by Mariner.
Responsibilities
- Recognize situations that warrant more specialized support and coordinate introductions to Mariner's wealth management or advisory professionals as appropriate
- Help participants translate financial concepts into practical actions that support their personal goals and long-term financial confidence
Requirements
- Minimum of ten years of experience in financial services, retirement plans, participant education, or wealth management
- Expert knowledge of qualified retirement plans, investment principles, and personal financial planning concepts
- Willingness and availability to travel 60% of the time
Nice to have
- Demonstrated ability to explain financial concepts in a practical, engaging, and easy-to-understand manner
- Comfortable interacting with stakeholders across all organizational levels, including executives, HR teams, and plan participants
- Required License/Certification:
- FINRA series license 65, 66 CFP or equivalent financial planning licensure
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, communications, marketing, or a related discipline preferred

- Act as a dedicated resource for assigned retirement plans, participants, and client relationships by delivering ongoing financial education and participant support
- Partner with internal stakeholders, consultants, and employer groups to develop and execute education initiatives designed to enhance participant engagement, retirement preparedness, and plan utilization
- Participate in client review meetings, prospective client presentations, and strategic growth initiatives supporting the organization's retirement and wealth objectives
- Maintain consistent travel throughout the assigned territory, including in-person client meetings and educational events as needed
