About the role
- Independently define project scope, collaboratively align stakeholders, prioritize resources, organize technical data, and effectively communicate status of development activities.
- Utilize and improve material qualification framework to fully characterize AM material and geometric capability.
Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert in Laser Powder Bed Fusion to drive high priority improvements to printed material capability, consistency, and total manufacturing cost.
- Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to advise on feasibility and risk assessments for new AM products or features.
- Author and maintain engineering specifications to drive printed material consistency with effective technical writing.
- Support technical disposition of AM quality non-conformances, and drive root cause corrective action for material or equipment issues.
Requirements
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
- 5+ Years of professional hands-on fabrication, assembly, testing, and/or technical project management experience
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls (ITAR)
- Ability to directly handle AM metal powders with proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
Nice to have
- Excellent communicator with ability to present clear and concise technical information
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities
- Proficient with materials engineering fundamentals (Stress-Strain, Fatigue, Microstructure, material property statistics, etc.)
- Experience with Aerospace Design for AM and ability to perform manufacturing trade studies grounded in first principles
- Direct hands-on experience operating and programming Metal Additive Manufacturing Equipment
- Experience with root cause troubleshooting and repairing of mechatronic systems
- Proficient with 3D Modeling in Teamcenter / NX
- Experience utilizing and editing code for data analysis - Python and/or C++
