Responsibilities

  • Translate engineering control narratives into functional PLC logic, SCADA configurations, and detailed system designs
  • Develop PLC programs using ladder logic, structured text, and function block programming
  • Design intuitive, user-friendly HMI/SCADA interfaces with a focus on usability and consistency
  • Build and execute test plans to validate programming performance before deployment
  • Collaborate closely with automation engineers, project managers, and field teams to deliver successful projects
  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation of system logic, configurations, and updates
  • Build systems that keep critical infrastructure running

Requirements

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience developing PLC programs and SCADA/HMI systems
  • Strong understanding of industrial control systems, networks, and communication protocols
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and P&IDs
  • Proven troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and networked systems

Nice to have

  • Experience in water/wastewater, utilities, or industrial environments
  • Familiarity with RTUs, radio/telemetry systems, or advanced system integrations

  • You're collaborative and comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams
  • You communicate clearly, whether troubleshooting in the field or aligning on project goals
  • You're proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality results
