About the role

  • ​​ BGC is seeking a n Intermediate Geotechnical or Geological Engineer.
  • The candidate will be supported by an existing multi-disciplinary team of geotechnical/geological engineers, geoscientists, hydrologists, hydrogeologists and others.
  • This position can be based at one of our Canadian locatio ns listed here.

Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate field investigations, and construction activities in collaboration with contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • 5 + years of relevant work experience in tailings management and dam design.

Requirements

  • The policy states that an employee may be required to take a drug and alcohol test prior to engaging in field work.
  • This testing could be requested within an employee's first week or in the future, as required.
  • To meet travel and client requirements, employees may be required to receive vaccinations such as yellow fever, COVID-19, malaria, etc.
  • BGC requires that you have a current passport for this position.
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil or Geological Engineering.

Nice to have

  • ​ Post-graduate degree in Geological, Geotechnical, or Civil Engineering is preferred.

Compensation

  • ​ Annual inspections and reporting (DSIs, etc.).
  • The estimated base salary range for this position is $ 90,000 - $1 20,000 CAD per annum, however base pay will be commensurate with job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
